Heart-Pumping Workout

TOMORROW is Valentine’s Day! A holiday full of chocolate and flowers and chocolate and decadent dinners and candlelight and chocolate and wine… Did I mention chocolate?

Ah yes, a holiday for lovers known for its abundance of chocolate truffles, caramel-filled candy and other sweets.

Tomorrow, instead of giving your favorite love a box of something store-bought and *not* good for the heart, why not give them something we could all use a little more of?

Heart-healthy, quality time together! You, of course, should still enjoy a romantic dinner or a decadent dessert with your favorite person but first, get your hearts pumping with my Valentine’s Day workout!

**Side Squat Jumps – One Rep = In a squat position, jump your legs out and then in again. I feel it helps to stand on a yoga mat so you know how far you are moving your legs. You should feel the burn!**

Is there anything better than spending time with your sweetie? I say yes, spending time with your sweetie knowing that you are improving their health (and yours too!) in order to spend many more Valentine’s Days together :)

How are you going to stay healthy on Valentine’s Day?

  1. My husband has been doing body pump with me to help me practice teaching. We have plans to meet up in the basement for a bodypump workout after the baby goes to bed!

  2. Not sure if the BF will join me for this one, but I was definitely looking for a good workout to do today in anticipation of all the sweets to come tomorrow :)

  3. I highly doubt I could force Jake to do burpees… Although, maybe if I pull the V-day card. I’m going to stay healthy on Valentine’s Day by not celebrating it! Haha! Our anniversary is on the 20th and I have class until 8pm tomorrow so I’ll just have to live vicariously through everybody else’s fun nights of decadence.

    • Haha, I couldn’t get Kyle to do this workout with me to save my life. At least I’ll convince him to make a trip to the gym ;)

  4. Ahh burpees. Scary.

My boyfriend Connor is working late tomorrow so I am going to cook a healthy yet romantic dinner……not sure what yet though. I should probably get on that soon. I’m sure there will be chocolate though. There’s got to be chocolate!

  5. Definitely going to start the day with a spin class!

  6. cute workout….How are you doing with the pushup challenge?

    • Good! I got up to 12 last night :) I was thankful that my WOD yesterday was all legs so I could still do some push-ups afterwards! Did I read on your blog that you did 16??

  7. I love this Becky! Kevin and I got up at 5am this morning to workout together. And we’re doing it again tomorrow. :) I’m trying to find a good spin class in the area that early in the morning before work!

    • Such motivation! I love spin classes but haven’t been able to find any that I can fit in before work in my area. I hope you are able to locate one!

  8. My boyfriend and I are fitness junkies and we work out together often. Valentine’s Day is our day off :).

  9. This was such an awesome post idea! Dan is definitely my workout buddy. We go on all our runs together, which makes getting out the door so much easier. I love being with someone who loves to be active as much as I do. I hope you have a great Valentine’s Day!!

  10. I’m going to workout in the morning tomorrow so I can hang with my hubby at night!

    • What a perfect plan! I am also going to head to CrossFit in the morning so we can go out to dinner tomorrow night :)

  11. So fun!! I can hardly ever get Alex to workout with me because he is so busy. I always try to convince him that it will be fun but it doesn’t do the trick

  12. Great workout! Happy Valentine’s day girl <3

  13. We are staying at home and cooking dinner together so I guess that’s healthier than eating out! :) I love your Valentine’s day workout routine !
