Some days I just need chocolate for breakfast.
Sweet, creamy, satisfying chocolate.
I could resort to taking a big bite out of the dark chocolate Lindt bars that I keep stashed away for “emergencies” but apparently society doesn’t approve of eating candy bars for breakfast.
Last week, I was having one of those chocolate-needing days. I wanted something healthy but I also wanted chocolate.
Enter, my Banana Bread Oatmeal!
Creamy oats, soft, flavorful bananas and – most importantly – sweet, sweet chocolate chips. This breakfast is healthy, will keep you full for hours and satisfies even the most intense chocolate cravings.
Banana Bread Oatmeal
- 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 banana, sliced
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1 TBSP chocolate chips
Cook oatmeal with almond milk per package instructions. Add in brown sugar and banana slices. Split between two bowls and top with chocolate chips. Enjoy!
This breakfast comes in under 200 calories per serving – perfect for those days when you NEED chocolate but want to stay healthy :)
