Weekly Health Goals

Good Morning! Happy Sunday :)

I’m going to keep this post short and sweet. It is bright and sunny and ABOVE freezing outside this morning (yay!!!) so my plans for the day are a 5-mile run, 2-mile walk with Kyle and Mitchell, a little baking and yoga tonight.

On Friday night, Kyle and I cashed in a Groupon for Nami – a sushi bar in downtown Minneapolis. We ordered a variety of sashimi and one roll and it was delicious, as always. After enjoying our sushi and wine, we headed to Barrio for some margarita action! It was National Margarita Day and I couldn’t not partake in this holiday :)

Saturday morning, I ran to Lululemon to pick up a couple of pairs of Wunder Unders that I had to get shortened. Thankfully they have free alterations for us short people ;) While there, I had a gift card that was burning a hole in my pocket so I picked up a new jacket (that was on sale – only $59 from the original $150 – woot!!) and a pair of Ebb and Flow pants. Lululemon is one of my all-time favorite retailers, next to Target and Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s and Nordstroms. And if you are wondering, yes, I may have a shopping problem.

After my shopping spree, I headed to Trader Joe’s to pick up our weekly groceries. I didn’t go grocery shopping last week so I had A LOT to buy yesterday. I ended up spending $116 but that included flowers and some other random items that I thought I needed at the time. Considering that we have a bad habit of blowing over $100 when we go out to eat, feeding the two of us for breakfast/lunch/dinner for $116/week is pretty good!

The rest of the day was spent cleaning, going on a 3-mile run, a sweaty, hot yoga sesh, prepping my fruits and veggies for the week and watching The Perks of Being a Wallflower to end the night.

This week, my health (and financial health!) goal is to stop buying so many lunches out at work. It’s expensive, it isn’t the healthiest and it really isn’t even that good. I have planned LOTS of delicious, healthy meal options – from a few of my fellow bloggers – this week so I will have an abundance of lunch options to choose from this week.

Comments

  1. yay! hope you enjoy the burgers!

  2. I am so sad that I didn’t celebrate National Margarita Day. . . boo! But yeah for above freezing temps. Have a great run. :)

  3. I need to come to your house for dinner! Your meal plans always look so great! We definitely celebrated National Margarita Day. Any excuse for a margarita :)

  4. Looks like a delicious upcoming week!

  5. I’ve never been to or owned anything Lululemon..!! I’m too poor for that stuff right now haha :) That’s awesome that they do free alterations! I’m short too (5’3) and all my length is in my torso, sooooo you can imagine how short my legs are

  6. You’ve been busy—-sounds good, shopping, exercise, food:)
I work near Nami, walk by the place every work day……….will have to try it for a happy hour—thanks for the review of it:)
I made banana pancakes for Saturday’s breakfast=so good!
Really should get outside for a walk today—warmer temps and all!

  7. I almost never eat out. It is so unhealthy, sometimes even when it seems healthy. Sometimes I really crave restaurant food, but I would rather make myself treats at home. Salt really bothers me and restaurants and salt go hand in hand. I loved Perks of Being a Wallflower. It was just a great movie and kind of uplifting.

  8. I desperately need to start running outside again…I’m such a wuss in the winter! Looks like you have a yummy week ahead – those meatball subs look delicious!!

  9. Sounds like a good week and great job being prepared!

  10. I hope you love the falafel! SO good with cucumbers, purple onions, and tomatoes, all wrapped up in a fluffy pita!

  11. I’ve never thought about having to alter workout clothing! My problem is usually the opposite…the size I need for my waist is short in the inseam/legs.
    Great meal plan! Yum.
