After reading about Nicole’s New Year, New Gear program in February, I knew immediately that I wanted to participate in March! The program is a fitness pen pal program (if you follow my blog, it is similar to the Foodie Pen Pals program but with fitness gear!) – You are matched up with fellow fitness lovers and get to send/receive fun, fitness-related packages! Who doesn’t love fun surprises in the mail?
If you’re interested in joining the New Year, New Gear challenge for March, head on over to Nicole’s blog – Apples and Arteries.
This month, I was paired up with Tenecia. Tenecia lives in Tuscon, Arizona and she is the blogger over at Boobs, Barbells and Broccoli. She was really thorough and took her time understanding what I liked and didn’t like when it came to fitness gear – sizing, colors, fitness activities, you name it!
I let her know that I loved my Lululemon Wunder Unders – sadly they are slightly over the $15 price limit! – and that I also love headbands to keep my hair out of my face during workouts.
I was super excited when I received my package from Tenecia – Bright blue (my photo doesn’t show off their gorgeous hue!) fitness crops from Old Navy and bright, glittery headbands! She picked out things that I would buy for myself – Thanks Tenecia!
I’ve wanted to try out Old Navy’s fitness line for some time and these pants are the perfect excuse :) They fit well, are soft and stay put during yoga and running. And yes, I was so excited that I tried them out at yoga the day after I received my package!
I also love bright headbands and these remind me of summer. I was happy to see them in my package as well!
With all of the snow currently falling in Minneapolis, I think I should have requested to switch locations with Tenecia for this pen pal exchange; I would LOVE to be in Arizona right about now! Plus it would do wonders for my outdoor fitness routine ;)
I sent my package to Kim from over at Barking Mad About Running. If you’re curious what I picked out, head on over to her blog!
Are you a fitness gear junkie? If so, you should consider participating in Nicole’s program for March!

I love this idea since I love getting packages in the mail!
This is so cool! I’ve never heard of this linkup before!
Love the bright color of your pants! So cute.
So fun! And I love what you sent too.
How fun! I actually need new workout clothes, but they can be so damn expensive. Although, most of my workout pants now have holes in the butt, so I think I need to bite the bullet and just buy some.
Haha, yes Carly, it might be time for some new pants ;) Have you tried out Target’s C9 brand? They are affordable and have very similar styles to Lululemon, plus they last for a long time!
Oh my gosh, this is so cool and the first time I have heard about it! What awesome gear she sent you!!
UGH! Winter is at it’s worst this a.m………….I am so sick of it………yesterday I was fine…..not so much today:( That and a short night of sleep due to school–evening classes and a test=not a good last 24 hrs. Thx for listening:)
What a fun exchange you’re part of!
Great gear! Love the color of the pants!!
Thanks for participating.
So cool! I adore those bright headbands– is it weird that headbands motivate me to work out? I just like wearing them! Haha.
Aww those headbands are so cute! Love how they sparkle!
Those headbands are so cute! Nothing like a little sparkle and bling to get you motivated to workout! :)
I love the color of those pants, so perfect for spring! Although I talked to my mom in Minneapolis and it sounds like spring is still far away.
I love Old Navy’s active wear!
This is such a fun idea! I love it.
