#22 Treat Yourself Tuesday

Happy, happy Tuesday!

I just realized that between the weather making me a shut-in and having a lot of responsibilities on my plate, the only way I remember make time to treat myself is because of this weekly post. Thanks TYT!

I hope you’re remembering to take a few moments out of your busy schedule to take care of the most important thing in your life – YOU!

Treat Yourself Tuesday Badge

If you’re new to TYT, head over here to read about why I am a firm supporter and advocate for treating ourselves – even in the smallest of ways – everyday! I promise you will fall in love with the idea and once you do, please link up below :)

First things first, lululemon :)

As I mentioned last week, I really wanted this zippie but passed on it while in Madison a few weekends ago. My online shopping habits got the best to me one night and it ended up being purchased. #oops This green beauty is supposed to arrive in the mail today and I can’t wait to try it on when I get home from work!

photo 1 (1)

I really wanted this tank top, I mean – who wouldn’t?! But it was $25 and everyone knows I have more than enough workout clothes for 50 women so I did myself a favor and passed. I’m trying to be better with my money (aka – not buy little things that I don’t need) plus I want to buy these and this when I visit Vegas in August so it’s time to start saving up ;)

photo 3

Another little treat this week (as I just said I wasn’t spending money on little things I didn’t need…) were these knee-high socks for St. Paddy’s Day! They were only $4 and St. Pat’s is HUGE here in Chicago. I’m pumped to celebrate my first green river holiday here in a little over a month.

photo 2

I also purchased some new eye cream. My eyes are SO wrinkly in this dry, cold weather and I’m hoping this will do the trick. I’ll let ya know how I like it :)

photo 4

On a non-shopping note, I treated myself by taking it easy on my knee over the past week. I briefly mentioned it in a previous post but I did something to my right knee. I’m not really sure how I  injured it but it has been hurting after running a few miles and when I go down stairs. Thankfully, I ran 1.5 miles straight last night without pain! I’m still going to take it easy the next few weeks (it’s not like I can run outside anyways!) but it seems like it is healing itself.

Oh, and I can’t forget this wine. Kyle recently told me I don’t do enough wine reviews anymore… I’ll get on that soon but for now, here’s your review, hehe… –> Get it – you won’t be disappointed.

I may have thought it was a good idea to drink a majority of this bottle one night last week. #sorrynotsorry It tasted fabulous plus it was cheap ($10!) and I plan on picking up another bottle on my way through the train station tonight! You know you want to meet me there… ;)

And last but most definitely not least, I’ve been treating myself to dreams of Jamaica :) Get ready for a special TYT – Jamaica edition next Tuesday!

Your turn – How did YOU treat yourself this week?

  1. You had me at wine! Wish they sold it here.

Loving your new st paddys day socks. I’ve less been struggling with online shopping and more normal shopping and just wasting money, hello buying lunches and snacks!

  2. There you go tempting me with that hoodie again — you’re horrible :P I may just have to treat myself to it because it’s been cold as heck here lately, and everyone knows you need more clothes to keep you warm when it’s cold ;)

  4. Yes to wine. Especially cheap wine ;) if two buck chuck was a thing in PA, I’d totally be all over that. Sadly PA doesn’t get any of it :/ And if my train station sold wine I would be about 10x happier of a person because I would have a daily dose. Lord knows a train commute could drive anyway to drink! :p

  10. You clearly just bought new eye cream, but have you tried Olay Pro-X? It’s pretty cheap ($50 for the three pack of eye cream, day cream, night cream) and it’s amazing. I haven’t noticed a new wrinkle since I started using it 4-5ish years ago. Seriously awesome.

Love that hoodie! I haven’t ventured to lulu because I know I will buy everything there haha. And internet shopping is soooo dangerous! Especially when you know your size at that particular store!

PS I finally got my stitchfix review up! :)

  22. Have you hit up Binny’s yet? The one right off of North Ave. now has a GIGANTIC champagne room. In the non-strip club sense. I just realized how bad that can be taken. Which then made me laugh. I’m glad I can amuse myself.

Anyway. I am obsessed with Binny and their wine selection. Which makes up (not really) for living farther than an hour from wine country now. :(

  23. If you wanted to get creative, you could probably make that shirt for about 10 dollas! DO it!!!
I may have to go buy myself those socks for the 7k next month. They will make me run easier right?
Speaking of dry wrinkly eyes, I am starting to use essential oils (coconut oil plus frankincense) around my eye wrinkles…I’ll let you know how it goes.

  26. I love that green zip up! And yes, let us know about the eye cream. I have heard good things about the ROC stiff, but haven’t tried anything. Happy Tuesday!

  27. I use that ROC cream! I like all of their products a lot. Not oily and I can wear them day and night without breaking out. But the best part is that I can actually see results!

  28. I would LOVE to hear what you think of the ROC eye cream. I really need to get on properly moisturizing my skin but I want something that I know will be beneficial. I saw someone tweet you something about something blueberry I think? lol It looked like a natural type of cream, I don’t remember because I was half asleep lol I would like something more natural on the face but I don’t know if that would work as well?

I’ve been eyeing it (HA, no pun intended) for awhile, but I’m always super hesitant to buy new products because I have like the world’s most sensitive skin. So you’ll have to give us a review. I can, however, afford a bottle of $10 vino! Sounds delish! Also, I need some funky socks like those for my Half, since it’s the day before St Patty’s!! You know, all part of my plan to make you-know-who propose to me after we cross the finish line together… HAHAHA

  49. I always forget to take pictures of great wines! Usually they are gone so fast and then I don’t remember on my next grocery trip. Also, how sad is it, that a 10$ bottle is considered cheap wine in the U.S. That would be a pretty fancy bottle in France or Germany, we usually get our wine for less than 5€ the bottle.
