#31 Treat Yourself Tuesday

Treat yoself!

Sorry, that’s the only tagline I have for you this morning. I’m lacking some serious creativity this Tuesday!

Treat Yourself Tuesday Badge

If you’re new to TYT, head over here to read about why I am a supporter and advocate for treating ourselves – even in the smallest of ways – everyday! I promise you will fall in love with the idea and once you do, please link up below :)

Let me start with my best treat this week – flip flops. Outside. FLIP FLOPS, PEOPLE!

Hallelujah. The birds were singing and my toes were happy :)

Because the weather was glorious and my nails were in need of some serious pampering, I decided I needed a spring-colored manicure on Saturday afternoon. #treatyoself

And while we’re on the topic of pampering – I had my first facial since moving to Chicago on Sunday! My skin always feel amazing after a facial and this winter did not do my skin well so I will be back in 2 weeks for a “mini facial” to continue to repair the winter damage.

While at the spa, I decided to splurge on a skin cleanser. I’ve been using something much too harsh and it turns out, it’s clogging my pores. My aesthetician also gave me a sample of an antioxidant serum (that supposedly has natural SPF properties) to try for a few weeks. It’s expensive and I want to see if I like it before I shell out the big bucks.

Apparently it’s beauty week here on TYT because I also treated myself to a bottle of tea tree shampoo while grocery shopping on Saturday night (see it in the cart up there?) I recently read that if you don’t wash your hair every day (and I don’t…), overgrowth of yeast can become an issue on your scalp. {#sexy}

Tea tree oil prevents/eliminates yeast so I treated myself to a clean, yeast-free scalp – Haha!

And because I’m now obsessed, I bought a few more pairs of Feetures. I bought 3 pairs the first time and almost panicked when they were all in the laundry for my Friday morning run! Now, I have 7 pairs – enough to get me through laundry day each week. I also bought a new sports bra – I figure if I’m going to be running my life away this summer, the girls need a little treat as well ;)

Remember this Instagram post?

I broke down and bought the dress. Don’t act like you’re surprised ;) I have a few weddings and events coming up this summer and this dress will be perfect. Kyle wore a seersucker suit to the Derby last year and I’ve wanted something seersucker ever since! I can’t wait to wear this dress with some summer accessories – a fedora, wedges, and a white purse to be exact.

How did you treat yourself this week? Is it flip flop weather where you live?

  1. Oohhh I love that sports bra. I’d be wearing it all the time.. I mean obviously I’d wash it too. LOL :)

I’ve treating myself to lots of iced lattes from different coffee shops.

  2. I love your nail color! Getting a mani or pedi is one of my favorite ways to treat myself. Do you know the name of the color of that polish? I LOVE the dress you bought too! I’m so over winter clothes.

  3. I can totally see you in that dress! Love it :)

For the most part, it is flip flop weather here! And as far as treating myself goes, I’ve been spending more time reading by the pool!

  4. That dress is gorgeous. Love, love, love. And I’m super jealous that you’ve got flip flop weather! No such luck for us here, yet. It’s warming up, buuuuuuut we’re also supposed to get hit with some wet snow today. Ugh. Tired of this. My toes want freedom! And I just washed my car. FML

    • Well, we HAD flip flop weather. Then it snowed. A LOT. I’m protesting and still wearing sandals. Ms. Mother Nature will just have to deal with it!

  5. A facial sounds amazing… I’m not usually one for facials but after I had one in Vegas a few weeks ago I can’t stop thinking about getting another!

  6. Those socks are amazing! I am actually going to go to a few different stores to buy more. I do laundry to get those socks ready for running, haha. They are so soft and I swear they help me r unning!

  9. It was flip flop weather over the weekend….and it’s snowing today. I can’t even handle this – I miss being outside in a tank top!
And the dress is so cute! I need to keep an eye out for new summer dresses. I don’t think I’ve had a facial in about…a decade? Might have to treat myself over the summer.

  10. I need to try those socks! Manis and pedis are one of my favorite ways to treat myself. You can’t help feeling so much better when you walk out! I’m pretty sure it hit 100 degrees here last week, which is just a little to early in my opinion, I like to run outside in the afternoon till early June, but that might not happen this year!

  11. I wore sandals this weekend too! But now there’s several inches of snow on the ground :( I can’t … I just can’t. I need to treat myself today for sure.

    • Yes, I hope you did! I barely sat down all day long so it’s time for an early bedtime tonight. AND a good workout in the morning!

  12. Feetures are the best socks!! I treated myself to some flip flops as well and it was a wonderful feeling. I also wore shorts the whole weekend!

  13. LOVE that dress. My brother got married in Mexico a few years ago and the groomsmen all had seersucker suits…it was awesome!

  14. You have the best style. I think next time I’m in need of clothes, I’m coming shopping in your closet. Vineyard Vines is my favorite brand followed closely by lulu and just about any other running brand out there. And those socks are the bomb dot com so I should probably scoop up some of those while I’m at it ;)

  17. It WAS flip flop weather this weekend… but now there is snow on the ground! What gives, Chicago?! Regardless, I plan to treat myself to a pedicure after work to celebrate my first day off crutches!!

  18. HAHA! I was thinking the same thing – if I’m going to run my life away this summer, I better treat the girls to some new support. HA! I ran in a top with a built in the other day and OH.EM.GEE my ladies hurt…and that’s not usually a problem for them. Time for some new support. haha! ;)

  24. Cute sports bra!

I use a toner (after a face wash) via the skin care line from the essential oils company I buy from (doterra), and it’s amazing! My skin has never looked better ;)

YES to flip flops! Can’t wait for even warmer weather soon!

  25. Can you just be my personal shopper? K, thanks. You always find the cutest things! Also, I’m super jealous of your facial – I have never had one before, and have been seriously debating finding a place around me. I just have such sensitive skin, I’m worried I’m going to come out looking like a lobster because I’ve broken out in face hives (yup, it’s happened before when I changed moisturizers)! Also, let me know what you think of that shampoo. It smells delish!

  30. I wish it was flip flop weather in Scotland!! *jealous* haha. I’m still in my winter coat and scarf over here. Oh and I love good skin care products. My skin is so much better for using something less harsh. It costs more, but it’s worth a spot free face! :)

  31. I’ve also heard washing your hair is super bad for your hair too. Such conflicting messages.
kelli h (made in sonoma) recently posted…Peanut Butter Oatmeal White Chocolate Chip CookiesMy Profile

    • Oh definitely washing your hair every day isn’t ideal. I think washing it every other day is fine but if you sweat/workout a lot, you can run into issues!

  32. Cute dress! I have a million weddings to go to this summer so I need to take a page out of your book and start dress shopping online!!

  33. Oh, I did a little smile when you mentioned skin ceuticals. It’s the only brand I use for skin care! The price tag is hefty but has been SO worth it for my skin.
I am loving that dress, so pretty. I wish I could wear ruffles like that but since I’m a little top heavy if you catch my drift I can’t usually wear those types of dresses. Sadness!

    • LOL! I’m a little top heavy too but somehow it looks okay on me ;) We’ll see how this dress fits when it arrives!

  34. I am ALL about flip flops here in AZ lately. It’s been in the 80′s-90′s already, so I’ve been wearing them pretty much nonstop.

I haven’t been doing much “treating myself” lately… I need to! Things have been so crazy and stressful that I haven’t had a lot of time, but it’s definitely something I need to make a priority.
