40 things that scare me more than Ebola

Remember the post I mentioned on Saturday? Yeah, it inspired me to create the following list. If you haven’t had the chance to read the link, head over there – Her list is freakin’ hilarious!

As I said this weekend, Ebola is scary. It’s a frightening virus with a low survival rate and one that lacks any type of proven cure. Yes, we need better policies and hospital training/protocols to prevent it from spreading. But are we going to catch it? It’s highly unlikely… And all of this media hype is only going to continue spreading fear. Fear does nothing but create hysteria – It will not solve the problem.

If you want to place your bets on something, I suggest you play the lottery. You have much better odds at winning a few million dollars than catching Ebola. And winning a few extra bucks sounds like something I’d much rather do anyways ;)

Ebola

With that being said, here are 40 things that scare me more than Ebola:

  1. My hair in humidity
  2. Going bald
  3. My cellulite… The sexiness cannot be tamed
  4. A little old ninny crashing into my car
  5. Running out of Spark

Comments

  1. HAHAHA!! Your list cracked me up. Hilarious for sure. I like Kyle’s driving, hair in humidity, mom jeans, lol. So fun. Getting hair on me in the shower, busses falling over on me when they round a bend and I’m beside them. #Truth

  2. Great list and a great way to handle such a heavy topic. No AC and spiders yes! I may also be afraid to turn the heat on. Woke up to 59 yesterday, so it was my duty to bake and I got it up to 64. Also afraid I’ll live in Michigan forever and be a nobody :( Afraid of camping period. And wait, it’s fashionable to wear Lulu all day now???? ;) Just kidding!

  3. Hahaha — loooved this!

“A little old ninny crashing into my car” — THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME in Naples!!! I was literally stopped at a stop sign waiting for this old lady to turn, and sure enough she sloooowly turned and hit my car. While I was stopped at a stop sign.

    -today’s youth
    -Louisiana politicians
-shortage of good shows on Netflix

    • Horribly done boob jobs – HAHAHAH! That is a fear of mine too because I am totally get one after kids. Yup, I’m going to be one of those but if I live near a beach, I don’t want saggy ones, LOL ;)

  7. This is hilarious! I Don’t undertand why the media goes crazy like we’re all gonna die when there’s a disease. I’m with you on the cruise ship. There’s no way I’d ever be getting on one of those. Rattlesnakes are my biggest fear.
MegaN @ SkiNny fitAlicious recently posted…Pumpkin Blueberry Chocolate Chip Cashew MuffinsMy Profile

    • Blech – rattlesnakes. That would freak me out too! Apparently in Colorado they’re evolving to not have a rattle sound any longer! How freakin’ scary is that?!

  8. Undercooked chicken <– I read Undercooked Children. Almost died. Whyyy are you afraid of cruise ships? Old ones are nasty, but a nice, new cruise ship is like my fav! I read a news article about a guy in Japan who discovered an old woman living in his cupboard… so that's my newest and greatest fear! And seeing Josh's reaction when he realizes we're out of Ranch dressing.
Kelly @ Hidden Fruits and Veggies recently posted…Sloppy Joe LasagnaMy Profile

    • I like my children niceeee and crispy ;) I’m so terrified of getting stranded and sinking mid-ocean. And then getting eaten by a shark. #truestory

  9. HAAAA. #12 is my favorite. So that must mean I scare you? ;) Here’s a few of mine:
    – Most males (this is probably why I’m single ha)

    – Chipotle going out of business

  12. Just read that article for the first time, oh em gee, I was laughing so hard!! Love love love your list, I agree with so many of them!!
Some things that scare me more than ebola:

    1. Never being able to buy my raw crunchy almond butter from TJ’s again

    1. Cutting my hair too short and looking like a triangle head.
    2. Trader Joe’s closing in my area-how could I live without all of the deliciousness??
    3. Missing our honeymoon flights.

    • Bahahaha – The triangle head comment made me LOL!

    • Oh, and also, we missed our connection by ONE MINUTE from Athens to Santorini on our honeymoon. I cried. But thankfully, you can buy beer out of coolers in Europe so we drank and played cards for 5 hours while we waited :)

  19. Mom jeans…lol! That made me think of that SNL skit. So awful!
I’m afraid of going bald too. I lose so much hair and I’ve been told that it’s normal, but the thought of having a bald spot scares the shit out of me. Our hair is such an important part of our femininity!
Sarah @ making thyme for health recently posted…Montreux, SwitzerlandMy Profile

    • Oh man, the amount of hair I pull out of my head on a daily basis should be illegal. I figure as long as I don’t look bald, I’m not going to worry about it ;)

  20. OMG I love this post. I agree with almost all of them especially #12. Actually they don’t scare me as much as they annoy me… ;)
katie @ Daily Cup of KaTe recently posted…Wedding Recap: BridesmaidsMy Profile

  21. I love this post! Makes me worry less about ebola for sure. Anyway what I fear is winter coming and that there will be some big snow fall and my management won’t take care of it and my car will be stuck in my garage. Then there is the fear of not finding a new apartment before March since I need to move once my lease is up.

  22. I got a good chuckle out of those!! I can totally relate to so many! I’ll have to agree on the flying one! I don’t know what happened but I just developed this fear about 2 years ago. I leave for NYC on Sunday and I’m already dreading it!
Brooke@SweeTnSweaty recently posted…Sunday Funday…One Sentence Per PictureMy Profile

    • Ugh, mine did too! I never used to love it but I never really panicked either. Now it’s like full-on OMG I AM GOING TO DIE panic mode. It’s not very pleasant, lol.

  23. LOL this post kills me! As an RN, our world is all about Ebola right now…but I would have to say catching the flu is scary then catching Ebola and actually has a higher death rate…people just don’t talk about it ;)

    Thought this was fitting: http://www.someecards.com/somewhat-topical-cards/worried-catching-ebola-lazy-flu-shot-funny-ecard

    • Woah, it has a higher death rate?! That’s freaky! I did not know that! And another reason to why I always get the flu shot even though I hate needles.

  24. LOL!! This was hilarious! My fave was the Lulu one ;)

You’ll pass your BP video no prob! LMK if you do have questions or want help tho! xo

    1. Tornadoes. Give me an earthquake any day.
    2. Raiders fans.
    3. Taking a bite of food and finding out that there are peas hidden inside. Not a fan of peas.
    Hilary recently posted…Birthday FunMy Profile

    • Oh man, I love peas, haha! But yes, I know what you mean. I hate taking a bite of a cookie thinking that it’s chocolate chip and finding out that it’s raisin. BLECH.
