#76 Treat Yourself Tuesday

Tuesday, Tuesday! I had some fun treats over the past week that I can’t wait to share with y’all :)

Treat Yourself Tuesday Badge

First… Girl Scout cookies – OMG good. If I fail my gestational diabetes test today (NOT a treat…), I blame Samoas ;) As a side note, the Thin Mints are alllll Kyle’s. I think I may be the only person in the world to not really like Thin Mints! I mean, I’ll still eat them if they’re in front of me but I wouldn’t choose to order them. Weird, right?

A new prenatal yoga DVD. There aren’t a ton of prenatal yoga classes here in Naples so I figured that it would be beneficial to do something at home to keep me somewhat nimble. I know I definitely need the stretching after all of my BODYPUMPing and Spinning. I wouldn’t say the DVD is a workout, but it did feel pretty awesome on my sore muscles and I plan on fitting it in 3-4 times per week until May.

My Plum Paper planner!! You guys. YOU GUYS. This is absolute amazingness. I feel 110% more organized and I haven’t even had my planner for a week. For some reason, I am much more productive when I can cross things off of a list and see everything that I have on tap for the day. I only have cheap planners to compare it to, but it is a total step up from what I have used in the past. Plus, it’s really pretty to look at and it was ONLY $31!

A newborn photographer! I have been putting off finding a photographer for months and decided I should probably get on that since MJ will be here in less than 12 weeks (gulp.) After speaking with a few photographers in Naples, we decided to go with Rochelle Shucart Photography! She was super friendly on the phone and made me feel comfortable which I know will be really important when she’s taking photos of little MJ. I also love that family and friends can gift us a “photography gift” via her registry that will be applied toward photo purchases.

And we’re working on some exciting house stuff BUT you’re going to have to wait until the t’s are crossed and the i’s are dotted before I share anything. Hopefully that will be sooner rather than later because I can’t wait to tell y’all about it!

How did you treat yourself this past week? What is your favorite type of Girl Scout cookie? Planners – yay or nay?

  1. I LOVE your planner! So adorable! I have an Erin Condren planner that I love, but it is quite pricey. I need to look into Plum Paper!

  2. Not a huge fan of thin mints either. Samoas are where it’s at. I got the Lily Pulitzer planner which I love. I didn’t see the brand you have in my searches! I reeeeeeeeeeeeally wanted an Erin Condren but I just couldn’t spring for it.

  3. In high school and college I was allll about planners, but now I just put everything on my Outlook calendar at work. I have a planner that only has month pages that I’ve been using for my blog, but I haven’t even touched February yet, so I think it might be a lost cause.

    • LOL! I go through phases. I’m so busy and forgetful right now that I’m afraid I wouldn’t get anything done without one.

  4. I am with you in the Thin Mints, pass. Samoans and Tagalongs are where it’s at!

  5. Becky I’m with you! I don’t like the thin mints either. Steve loves them though! I am a samoas girl myself. Well before I quit the gluten. I keep hearing abot a gluten free cookie from the Girl Scouts this year but haven’t found it yet!

Planners are the best aren’t they! I too find great joy in marking task off my list AND I remember things better when I write it down! I’m loving my Erin Condren !

Yay for prenatal yoga! You have taken such good care of MJ and you.!! #inspiration

Speaking of babies my runner friend./long time elementary school friend had a baby and I got her some baby Saucony running shoes in orange and pink ombre and they are to DIE for. I heart baby shoes!!

  6. awww newborn photographerrrr! I already am dying to see the pictures of lil MJ/Dean :P

And ahhh GS cookies for the win! I can’t believe you don’t like Thin Mints (although I do like Tagalongs and Samoas better)!

  8. Not a fan of thin mint girl scout cookies? I thought for sure we had the exact same interests in everything. Nice to learn something new about ya :)

  9. This is probably a dumb question but does the photographer come to the hospital? Or just take pics as soon as you get home?
Laura Dembowski recently posted…Popcorn Puppy Chow #SundaySupperMy Profile

    • You can order packages to have them come to the hospital. We aren’t. Newborn photos are typically schedule sometime within the first 10 days so they’re still little tiny for them.

  10. Jason feels like the same way about thin mints. I like them, but don’t love them. I’m a total Samoa girl!

  15. Heck yes to all the Girl Scout cookies! Samoas and Tag-A-Longs are my all time favorites. Those boxes don’t stand a chance around here for long.

Excited to hear all about your house news! Hope it all works out!

  16. We were walking out of the grocery store Sunday and I saw the first batch of Girl Scouts, I refrained, but only because I’d just purchased the Red Velvet Oreos to try ;) Next time… I love my Plum Paper planner, such a good deal and I use it all day everyday!

  18. I finally just got a new planner and am the same way I feel SO much more organized and like my life is way more together. I love yours!
I am pretty much meh about girl scout cookies in general. But I am odd and like the shortbread ones the most if I have to choose!

  19. I’ve seen girl scouts everywhere but I’m trying to avoid them because their cookies are so delicious.

I need to try the paper planner thing eventually, but I’ve gotten so dependent on my online calendar. Love the stuff you’re treating yourself with!

    • I used to be tied to my Outlook but then left my job… I realized paper is better for me because writing things down also helps me to remember :)

  20. I can’t wait to hear about house plans/stuff b/c that might be us soon!

And I actually do like thin mints–they’re the only girls scout cookies I would eat. I’m such a homemade cookie snob… :/
    Annette@FitnessPerks recently posted…Balance Bar Project {Giveaway!}My Profile

    • Gah! It’s so stressful! I’m sure yours will be a little better than ours, we just need to make some changes before moving in so I’m trying to figure all of that out.

  21. Hi Becky! I love all the Girl Scout cookies, but Thin Mints are a personal favorite. And that’s awesome you’re doing prenatal yoga at home! Looking forward to hearing about your house!
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West recently posted…Orange dream mango protein smoothie recipeMy Profile

    • Yeah, I think I’d have to join a THIRD gym (LOL I have problems…) if I wanted access to prenatal yoga ;) An $8 DVD seemed like the better option!

  22. I have been staying as far away from girl scout cookies as humanly possible! One of my treats to myself this past week was getting sushi with a friend and then spending the entire weekend just hanging out. Granted, I went a little stir crazy after some time, but it was nice at first! :)
Jessie @ Just Jessie recently posted…Just Jessie from A to ZMy Profile

  23. Nope, you aren’t the only person! I absolutely HATE thin mints.. granted I am NOT a fan of anything with mint unless we are talking about a peppermint disk. I bit into what I thought was a chocolate chip cookie this past Christmas and had to spit it out because it had mint in it!! :(

  24. One of my coworker’s daughters is a Girl Scout, so we all buy cookies from her every year, and they got delivered yesterday. I would be super excited, except Lent JUST started, and I don’t eat sweets at all during Lent, so now I have to stare at these boxes of deliciousness for six full weeks before I can even open them! Sigh. Talk about first world problems :P Thin Mints are probably my favorite, but I also LOVE Samoas and Tagalongs. So, so good.
