#57 Treat Yourself Tuesday

So many treats, so little time. Okay, not really… but you know what I mean, right? ;)

As I’m sitting here, my headboard that I mentioned last week was just delivered! YEAH!!! Now to get Kyle to carry it up the stairs and assemble it… Small details ;)

One of the two most exciting treats this week was that I FOUND A GYM TO TEACH BODYPUMP!!!!!!! DOUBLE YEAH!!! I’ve been stressing myself out over stopping by the YMCA here – I was afraid they wouldn’t like me or wouldn’t want another instructor, but they were super nice and they are going to let me practice with them and film my video there :) As long as I receive a “pass” from LesMills, I can get on the schedule! I’ll probably be mostly subbing at first which I am 100% okay with – I’m just happy that I can finally stop worrying about it.

Secondly, I am just as excited to let you all know that we found a gym!! It’s no East Bank Club (meaning they don’t have a personal juice bar or multiple restaurants or a rooftop pool) but they have a huge cardio room and a large weight section as well. Plus, dues for the both of us are less than 1/3 of what I paid in Chicago. EBC was awesome but definitely not cheap! And, to make up for the lack of internal restaurants, it’s located in a newer shopping center area that has a froyo cafe, an ice cream shop, a little sandwich restaurant, a Starbucks and a spa. I think I’ll be able to manage ;)

And check out this group fitness schedule – LesMills classes for daysssss. I can’t wait to try some of the classes that I haven’t checked out before. But first, Body Pump today at 8am!

Another weekend, another beach walk. No complaints here. It was HOTTTT though, so Kyle and I made a pit stop at a cute beach restaurant for a couple glasses of iced tea. And I’m starting to think Florida never cools down. People that are natives are already in long sleeves and pants and I’m outside in the least amount of clothing legally possibly and am still dying. LOL! The high temps later this week are in the low- to mid-80’s – I hope that’s a sign of cooler days to come.

date night

Last, but not least, date night! Kyle and I went out to a nice steakhouse on Saturday evening. I pulled out my “vacation” dress because well, I might as well wear them if I’m living in a place that feels like a vacation :)

How did you treat yourself last week? What are the temps like in your part of the country? Do you want to come visit and take my BP class?! Say yes!

Friday Favorites

Can I get a TGIF?! Is it just me or did this week seem to drag on and on and on and on?

Thankfully, today is FRIDAY and I’m here sharing a few of my favorites from the week.

1. All of your running advice from my barrage of questions earlier this week was a HUGE help. THANK YOU times a million. If you’re a runner, make sure you head on over to my post and read all of the comments – You don’t want to miss them!

2. Speaking of running, the ZOOMA Half-Marathon is tomorrow morning. I’m an ambassador for the race and would love my fellow Chicagoans to come cheer me and my fellow runners on tomorrow. You can find race details, including the route and times, here. Also, I’ll be attending the Honest Tea Mocktail Party tonight. Be there or be square ;)

3. I get to see these ladies in ONE WEEK!!! I’m so freakin’ pumped to have a fun and educational weekend at AdvoCare’s Success School and spend some time drinking Spark with my gal pals.

4. I debated sharing this with y’all, but since I’m so pumped up about it (pun intended!) I decided that I couldn’t wait any longer. Drumroll please… I’ve registered for Body Pump Instructor Training! Y’all know how much I LOVE my Body Pump classes and seeing how much Katie, Annette, and Ashley love teaching, I decided to just go for it. My training is still about a month away so I have plenty of time to prepare. Also, thanks to some advice from Ashley, I’m going to switch up my marathon training plan that weekend. I have an 18-miler on the schedule but because I don’t want to be exhausted for a weekend full of Pump, I’m going to move it ahead to the previous weekend and run 12 miles on that Saturday morning instead :)

5. Finally, my Vegas dress selection! Thanks again for all of your comments – they were super helpful :) I decided to go with #3 and #5. I really wanted #1 and #6 but – go figure, they did not have my size for the weekend I’ll be in Vegas. I always tell myself I need to book more in advance but then I wait until the last minute! I may order two more (Katie laughed at me yesterday when I told her, haha!) – I mean, it’s Vegas and I’ll be there for four nights and YOLO ;) Even better is that I’m having them shipped straight to the hotel so I will have more room in my suitcase for the important things… like Spark and workout gear.

Since it’s Friday, I’m linking up with Katie for Friday Favorites and Clare for 5 Things Friday!

What are your plans this weekend? Mocktail party tonight, ZOOMA tomorrow morning, wedding tomorrow night and then sleeping all day Sunday ;)

#33 Treat Yourself Tuesday

Happy Treat Yourself Tuesday!

Since I’m currently in Florida, this is going to be a super quick TYT post.

First treat of the week was my Stitch Fix arriving! Thank you for all of your input on what I should keep. I decided to keep only the tulip top. I liked the jeans and the other top, but I didn’t love them. They had a hefty price tag so I decided that if I didn’t love them, I shouldn’t keep them in my closet.

My second treat was Body Pump on Sunday morning. I didn’t work out for a full week because I was sick so getting back into the gym felt great!

There were some Easter Peanut M&M’s… because medicine tastes better with a bit ‘o sugar ;)

The My Vega team treated me to some awesome Vega bars last week. I’m obsessed with the Vega Snack Bar (the dark chocolate flavor is my favorite!) and packed a variety to take with me on my trip for healthy snacks or a quick breakfast option. I also just realized how much PINK I packed to take with me on my trip… #luluprobs

I sported lulu all day on Saturday (until our date night…) Kyle always wears nice jeans and a button down while we’re strolling around town and I’m always in lulu, LOL. I like to be comfortable, what can I say?!

I also bought some travel packets of Spark for my trip. You know I couldn’t go without it for a full week – haha!

Finally, for a future-looking treat, Kyle’s flying down to Florida on Thursday (our anniversary!) so we can spend the weekend together on the beach. I can’t wait to relax in the sun, warmth and humidity :)

How did you treat yourself this week? What is one thing you cannot go without when traveling?

Nachos, fondue, body pump and other weekend fun!

Happy Sunday!

How’s your weekend been so far?

My Friday night started out with the Blackhawks and nachos at a local dive bar. Nachos for me. Blackhawks for the boys ;)

Blackhawks Collage

Saturday morning called for a long walk. Mitchell and I had to wait while Kyle grabbed a bagel for breakfast.

photo 1 (89)

I had plans for brunch with a friend, but the walk took it out of me and I couldn’t stop coughing so plans had to change :/

After running a few errands, Kyle and I grabbed lunch at Duran – a local, European sandwich cafe. Each was delicious!

The rest of the day involved a 3-hour nap (it was amazing!) and then getting ready for date night.

photo 3 (88)

We received a Groupon gift for Christmas to Geja’s Cafe, a romantic fondue restaurant in Chicago, and decided it was time to use it.

Overall, everything was delicious. We started with salads and a cheese fondue with bread for dipping, following by a meat and seafood tray with 8 dipping sauces, and then finished with a chocolate fondue complete with marshmallows, rice krispie treats and fruit for dipping! The only part we didn’t enjoy was that we had to “cook” our meat in oil at the table, so basically our steak, chicken, lobster and scallops were all deep fat fried. Blech. If we go back, we decided we’d definitely just go for the cheese and chocolate and skip the main course ;)

After a week of rest, I finally hit up the gym again for some body pump! It felt great to get back.

photo 2 (89)

I got all geared up, thanks to Kyle, for the Blackhawks game.

photo 4 (74)

Once the game started, however, Mitchell and I decided we would rather take a walk to the dog park than watch hockey.

The rest of the afternoon and evening are going to be spent packing and getting ready for my 5am flight (not looking forward to the 2:30am wake-up call!) to Florida tomorrow. I’m heading south for a work trip so if I’m more absent than normal, you know where I am :)

What was the most exciting thing you did this weekend?

#30 Treat Yourself Tuesday

Happy Treat Yourself Tuesday!

Did you do something nice for yourself this week? I definitely did and I hope you joined in on the self-love too!

My first and BEST treat this week was my first outdoor run of the year! It felt so good to get some fresh air and stretch my legs after a long, long winter. Please remind me of this feeling when I’m exhausted from marathon training…

photo (6)

Next up was an afternoon at Wrigley Field. Soaking up the sun felt ah-maz-ing and, although the Cubs are awful per usual, it was great to spend some time outside without freezing!

Cubs Collage

Starbucks unsweetened black iced tea happened a few times over the week :) #sorrynotsorry I still have gift cards from Christmas and Valentine’s Day so in addition to a delicious (and 24DC-friendly) treat, they were free!

photo 1 (81)

I also treated myself to new running shoes! It was my first time getting fitted for shoes – at least since I was a kid and my mom took me to the shoe store, and the experience was great. I can’t wait to share my review with y’all this week!

photo 3 (77)

There was, of course – Chipotle! It’s pretty much my favorite treat during the work week.

photo 2 (80)

And then my final treat of the week was an evening to myself last night! Kyle (like most sports lovers) was out watching the basketball game with the guys. I honestly could not care less about the tournament so I opted out for an evening of Body Pump (release 89 is a killer!) and the movie, Frozen. It was a perfect Monday evening.

Night Collage

Last, but definitely not least, Mitchell (aka – Cone Man) tried to treat himself on Sunday with steak! I was pulling a package of steak out of the fridge for homemade Chipotle bowls and he grabbed hold. Hahahah – his eyes! #Idie

How did you treat yourself this week? Have you ever been fitted for running shoes? Have you seen Frozen yet? #cutestmovieever!
