AfterShokz Headphones Review + Challenge

I have a fun (and pink!) review for y’all today. A few weeks ago Aftershokz sent me a pair of their Trekz Titanium Pink headphones to review… Wireless PINK headphones? I was pumped to give ’em a try!

Copy of 2016-08-01

Before I get into my review, here is a quick overview of Aftershokz:

AfterShokz launched in 2011, bringing patented bone conduction technology to the consumer electronics industry with their unique headphones. What sets AfterShokz headphones apart from any other brand is the unique open ear design, allowing users to remain aware of their surroundings while they listen to premium stereo sound. AfterShokz headphones are Bluetooth enabled, wireless (woohoo!), and they allow you to listen to music and/or take a phone call all while being able to listen to your surroundings.

When I look for a pair of headphones to use while working out, my primary focus is running because that is when I’ll be using them! I need my headphones to stay in place, be lightweight, preferably be wireless, provide great sound while allowing me to stay tuned into my surroundings (you  know, to avoid getting hit by a car, LOL).

IMG_4722

I’m happy to report that the Trekz Titanium Pink headphones meet all of my requirements and then some! The headphones are not only pink (!!!), but they are super lightweight. I would actually forget I was wearing them if it weren’t for the music in my ears ;) Even though they are feather light, they don’t move out of place which I love. I don’t need to adjust my ear pieces at all when using my Aftershokz. The design makes it super easy to switch between music and my phone… not that I would need to chat on the phone while running but it’s nice to keep my options open. And – as safety is most important – I like that I can still hear the outdoors (and my running partner) while listening to music. I am always nervous wearing headphones while running as it is very important to be able to hear your surroundings. Thankfully, with my Aftershokz, I don’t have to choose between my tunes and safety!

I give the Trekz Titanium Pink headphones TWO thumbs up! They’re cute. They’re easy to use. They sound fantastic. And they promote a safe running experience. WOOHOO!

Burn Boot Camp {BBC} – Review

I have one day left in my 30-day Burn Boot Camp trial, so I thought today would be the perfect time to review my experience there. I’ve had enough time at Burn to get a good feel for the workouts and trainers and right now, the last month is still fresh in my totally burned-out mama brain… See what I did there?! ;)

For those that are not familiar with Burn Boot Camp, it is a female-only gym that offers high intensity workouts. No two workouts are ever the same and each workout is led by well-trained coaches.

Burn Boot Camp™ – Fit Community of Moms

My overall experience has been AWESOME! The workouts are efficient and effective and offered at multiple times to fit most schedules. The trainers are also informed and provide great coaching. That being said, I like to break down reviews into “pros” and “cons” to give everyone a full understanding of what I love and what I think could use some improvement.

Let’s start with the pros…

– The workouts! Holy moly, the workouts are QUICK (45 minutes start to finish), fun (if you like to torture yourself, LOL), and most definitely effective. I really like the fast pace, the ever-changing routines (no day is ever the same), and the focus on specific muscle groups/types of training. If you’re looking for a great workout in a group atmosphere, Burn will definitely force you to push yourself and it will provide results with fantastic workouts. The same workout is offered 8x daily each weekday and twice on Saturdays. That gives members multiple times to attend and fits almost any schedule.

– The bouncy mat. Okay, “bouncy mat” isn’t the official name of the floor, but basically Burn’s fitness floor has some bounce to it (while still being firm). The bounce makes all of the jumping they require much easier on your joints which I’m sure I’ll appreciate in my old age ;) It is covered in a carpet-like material which makes it easier on your elbows/knees during floor work.

– Child care. As a mom, any gym/fitness center that doesn’t offer a child care center is officially out of my scope. I gotta do something with the Deany while I get my fitness on. The play area has always been clean and well staffed and Dean seems to have a great time there while I workout.

– Female-only atmosphere. While this isn’t super important to me, I can see how some women prefer to workout without men. It can be intimidating and make someone self-conscious if they feel they are being watched and/or judged in a gym setting.

– Nutrition meetings. I LOVE the concept of this (although I do think they suggest calorie counts that are a bit too low). We all know that you can’t out train a bad diet and I like that they do try to coach members on good eating habits.

And now for the cons…

– Cleanliness. Let me start out by stating that I am most definitely NOT a germophobe. I work in a gym setting. I have a kid (germy little critters…). I have a dog (also germy little critters…). Germs don’t scare me and we need exposure to some germs to keep our immune systems strong. That being said, the “bouncy mat” I referred to above disgusts me when I think about how many women sweat on them daily. With the number of bootcamps offered daily, I think the mat should be cleaned at least once, if not twice, daily. A friend of mine asked and was told that the mat is only cleaned twice per week. GROSS. All of the sweaty germs residing in that mat make me cringe… Especially because my shoulders have been breaking out (and they rarely break out) non-stop since I began my trial membership. Blech!

– Product pushing. I get it, the gym needs to make a profit, but pushing products is not the way to go about that in my opinion. Before and after every class (and during their one-on-one nutrition meetings), shakes and other products are mentioned if you want to see “best results.” While they don’t force products on you, they do make you feel that if you don’t use them, you won’t see results. When I was asked about the products in my one-on-one meeting, I told them that I used AdvoCare performance products and they left me alone after that :)

– Macro counts. Burn recommends a daily macro count of 45% protein, 35% carbs, and 20% fat. While I agree that those macros WILL get you results, I absolutely do not believe they are sustainable. I find it very difficult to consume that much protein on a daily basis, and at least personally, I need a high percentage of carbs to function at my highest level. I would definitely follow that macro breakdown for a short period of time, but day-to-day? It wouldn’t be possible for me.

– The amount of jumping. While jumping/plyometrics is a GREAT way to burn a lot of calories and see results quickly, you have a gym full of women – many of which have been pregnant/given birth… Jumping is NOT a good thing. Pee happens. LOL. Think back to the germs in the bouncy mat. Gross, yes? Anyways, back to jumping. I think some jumping is good to incorporate into a workout but a warm-up or finisher of tuck jumps, jumping jacks, squat jumps, etc. is not good on the ol’ bladder. Yikes.

– Price. $150/month if you sign a 12-month contract. $175 month-to-month. Wowzers. If it weren’t for the price, I most definitely would have joined but there is no way I can justify the cost when I have access to multiple other gyms in town for free.

Like I said, I would 100% join burn regardless of the germs and jumping if it weren’t for the price. I love the workouts and the atmosphere is super positive and motivating!

Have you tried Burn? What are the things you like the least and the most about your current gym/group fitness program?

Mitchell,The Furry Snowbird

When Kyle and I relocated to Florida nearly two years ago, I joked with our friends and family that our move was actually for Mitchell. He was 8 when moved south, and as dogs are “seniors” at age 7 (!!!), he officially turned into a Snowbird when we changed our residence to Naples ;)

IMG_3146

Dog beaches with an ocean front view, plenty of parks and walking paths, lots of friendly faces, and warm weather year round – What more could my furry snowbird request??

Now that Mitchell is 10 years old – and a big brother that has added a bit of stress to his life, our focus is to keep him healthy, active, and young at heart for as long as possible. Because of this goal, I was more than happy to partner with Purina Pro Plan and give Mitchell a taste of their Purina Pro Plan BRIGHT MIND Adult 7+ dog food. And let’s be honest, Mitchell was the one who was happiest… A new food to eat? Count him IN!

In addition to trying out BRIGHT MIND Adult 7+ (a total win for Mitchell), we also had the opportunity to give Dognition a whirl. Dognition is comprised of fun, science-based games that allow you to better understand your dog’s personality and how they view the world. While Mitchell wouldn’t sit still (or participate… he’s young at heart, LOL) for all of the games, it was fun to have some one-on-one time with my favorite furry guy! Make sure you read through the entire post as I’m giving away a Dognition code for one of you to try out the games with your pup!

I’m sure it’s no surprise to my fellow dog lovers, but scientists at Nestle Purina have studied aging dogs for many years and have found that nutrition can positively impact a dog’s cognitive health as they grow older. I know I want Mitchell to have both a healthy body and a healthy mind as he continues to age, so getting quality nutrients in his body- along with keeping him active – is one of my top priorities for him right now. BRIGHT MIND 7+ contains enhanced botanical oils that have been shown to improve alertness, memory, trainability, and mental sharpness. Owners may actually notice more willingness on the part of their loved senior dogs to play and adapt/cope with change when feeding their dog BRIGHT MIND 7+. I think those are all characteristics we’d love to see in our dogs as they age!

IMG_3837

Over the past 30 days, Mitchell’s been chomping down and fully enjoying the flavor of his new, BRIGHT MIND 7+ dog food. Kyle and I have been happy to see a positive change in his mood and playfulness and I *think* he may even be listening better! Or his food is just so tasty that he no longer wants to beg for Dean’s food at dinner ;) Mitchell has always been full of energy so that wasn’t a big concern for us, but he’s been happier as Dean has been attempting to play with him and willing to go on longer walks in our Florida summer heat. Having a dog that is relaxed and adjustable around small kiddos is important to us so Mitchell will most definitely continue on his feeding regimen of BRIGHT MIND 7+. We are happy and thankful to see a positive improvement in our little ol’ snowbird dog.

IMG_3792

Now, it’s YOUR turn for a chance to get to better understand your dog’s feelings and behaviors. Comment below and tell me your dog’s name, age (any age counts!), and your favorite thing about your furry friend for your chance to win a Dognition assessment code ($19 value).

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Purina Pro Plan BRIGHT MIND. The opinions and text are all mine.

Healthy Summer Living – 4 easy steps + GIVEAWAY! #summerstrong

**Congrats to Alicia on winning the giveaway! Check your inbox – Everyone else, if you can get your hands on this protein powder, don’t delay… It is amazing!**

With the 4th of July right around the corner, it is safe to say we are in full summer mode here in the United States! Whether your summer involves copious amount of pool/beach time, ice cream to cool down, or long evening bike rides in the glorious evening sun, summer is most definitely a time for fun.

img_2430

With all of the summer fun upon us, it is important to remember to sneak in a little bit of healthy each day ;) Trust me, I love ice cream and popsicles and a cold drink as much as the next girl, but in life we gotta balance our treats to continue living our healthiest lives.

Today I am sharing FOUR easy tips – life hacks if you like, to living a balanced and healthy life in the summer months. Healthy living doesn’t have to be restrictive or boring, a little action goes quite far!

1. Fit movement into each and every day. This is an EASY one to implement in the summer… No snow/ice/cold for us to turn to the sofa rather than moving around outside. Take an evening walk after dinner. Go on a run with your girlfriends. Take a walk on the beach during your vacation. Join a cycle club and join them for a weekly bike ride. Walk to the park (or around the park!) with your kiddos. These small actions add up quickly. Movement is so important to our health – It doesn’t need to be crazy intense, just get out there and move what yo mama gave ya for 30 minutes a day. Your body will thank you for it!

img_2413

2. Smile. Don’t you just FEEL better when you smile? Smile at yourself in the mirror. Smile at a stranger walking down the sidewalk. Smile at your fitness instructor (Okay, okay… This is a personal plug – I like smiles in my classes!). Smile at your neighbor… the mailman… the grocery store cashier… Just smile! I guarantee it will make you a happier person and those around you happier as well. As the saying goes, happy wife happy life – Spread the happy love and you’ll be feeling healthier in no time!

3. Relax. Summer can be BUSY. Heck, life can be busy. It is important to take the time to slowwwww down, especially in the summer months. Even if a vacation is not in your future, take a weekend to yourself. Get your nails done, sleep in (HAHAHHAHHAHA <– not in my destiny right now!), make your favorite meal – Do what makes you feel best! Or, as I like to say, treat yourself :) Our mental health is so important to our overall health and it is important to give our bodies and minds time to decompress.

4. Finally – last but most definitely not least – eat well. I’m not saying you have to avoid the fun treats like ice cream and BBQ parties and that glass of wine waiting for you at happy hour. If you make mostly good decisions when it comes to food, you can have those treats without your body retaliating, LOL. Lean protein, fruits and veggies, whole grains and complex carbs… They do a body good! One of my favorite healthy treats the past month has been protein waffles made with Bob’s Red Mill Protein Nutritional Booster.

img_2349

1/3 cup Bob’s Red Mill + 1 egg + dash of baking soda + 1/4 cup water… Mix and cook in your waffle maker until done! Over 20 grams of FILLING protein and lotsa fiber in a delicious “treat” :) These nutritional boosters are also vegan AND gluten-free.

I’m excited to announce that I have partnered with Bob’s Red Mill to giveaway one 16 ounce bag of your flavor choice (Chai, Vanilla, Chocolate or the Protein & Fiber Booster), valued at $30!

IMG_2244

You will receive an entry for each of the following options – Just leave a comment below for EACH step completed!

I will randomly select a winner on Tuesday, July 5th. If you just can’t wait to try Bob’s Red Mill, here is a coupon for you to use this holiday weekend!

How are you living your healthiest summer? Any fun health tips you’d like to add to my list?

Rodan + Fields REDEFINE Review

I have mentioned the new facial care routine I’ve been using a few times now and have decided that it is finally time to share a review. I wanted to wait to share until I had used the products for a fair amount of time and now that it has been almost 60 days, I’m ready to tell the world! ;)

Before I get started, I want to clarify that I am not a Rodan + Fields consultant nor am I getting paid to publish this post. I like to share reviews because I love to search for them prior to purchasing new-to-me products.

My friend, Hailey, approached me about trying Rodan + Fields last fall. I had heard of R+F (I also had used Proactiv in college and LOVED it!! I believe it is made by the same dermatologists.), but didn’t know much about their products or lines of facial care. After taking the Solution Tool questionnaire, which asks you about your skin type including problem areas and focuses, it directed me to the REDEFINE regimen.

Rodan and Fields

Ah yes… I AM focusing on minimizing the aging of my skin so it makes sense that R+F would recommend the line that aids in reducing the appearance of lines and pores, as well as focuses on a loss of firmness. Aging skin is not fun and I was more than ready to start a new routine that would help me keeping young(ish) for years to come!

Per the R+F website, REDEFINE is a comprehensive skincare regimen that layers cosmetic ingredients and proven peptide technology to help defend against and reduce the visible signs of aging for noticeably firmer, smoother, flawless-looking skin. The REDEFINE Regimen features four full-size products: Daily Cleansing Mask, Pore Minimizing Toner, Triple Defense Treatment SPF 30, and Overnight Restorative Cream.

Here is a link to the comprehensive skincare regimen that I am using – It includes all four of the products listed above.

In addition to the four products listed above, I am also using REDEFINE Multi-Function Eye Cream as well as the REDEFINE Lip Renewing Serum (when I remember… I’m not good at remembering the lip one!). Once I am done nursing (2 months and counting, ha), I will be adding in the REDEFINE Night Renewing Serum <– I LOVE this one but it does contain retinol and I’m overly cautious with retinol right now.

I’ll admit that at first I was slightly intimidated by the products… FOUR products to use everyyyy single day?! Wouldn’t that take me at least 2 hours? Who has time for that? Thankfully, my “fears” were squashed when I developed an easy and quick method that works well for me. I apply the Daily Cleansing Mask in the morning while brushing my teeth and then quickly swab my face with the Pore Minimizing Toner. It dries super fast and then I apply my Multi-Function Eye Cream followed by the Triple Defense Treatment SPF 30. Easy peasy! At night, I follow the same routine except I apply the Overnight Restorative Cream rather than the SPF ;)

I definitely love that the night cream is labeled with a big “PM” on the lid so I don’t have to read the bottles before I’m fully awake. I wash my face before mixing up my Spark, LOL!

I didn’t get around to taking before photos (I am awful at remembering that sort of thing…) but I can say that my pores have never been cleaner! And I think they are shrinking too – That was most definitely a goal of mine when i began using these products! My skin feels incredible smooth as well and I think I look “refreshed” every morning when I wake up. I don’t spend hours staring at my wrinkles in the mirror so I can’t say if they’ve disappeared at all, but I do think now that I have a daily SPF in my routine, I will definitely slow the creation of any new wrinkles.

Ever since Dean was born, my skin has been incredibly blah-looking, for lack of a better description, and I’m so happy to have found a line of skincare that allows me to look better and feel more confident without makeup… Because I rarely wear makeup with my job as both a mama and at the gym.

Oh! And before I forget, I wanted to also mention that I did sign up as a preferred customer in order to save myself some moolah – 10% off R+F products AND free shipping. I was cautious at first because being a preferred customer does require product purchases/shipments every 60 days. Thankfully my consultant, Hailey, is absolutely incredible and is able to push back my shipments an extra 30-60 days based on when/if I need product.

I HIGHLY recommend R+F to anyone looking for a skincare solution. I love everything about the REDEFINE line (the smell, the feel, the ease, the results!) and know you can find a regimen you will love as well. I am certain Hailey would be more than happy to chat with you about the products as well if you have more specific questions!

What facial care products do you use? Have you ever tried R+F?

Spring Fitness Fashion + Discount Code!

At the beginning of February, I participated in a fun Instagram challenge with Fit Approach and prAna – The #PoseofTheDay challenge for prAna’s spring clothing line.

I’m always up for a challenge and incorporating yoga into my life always provides positive benefits. Who couldn’t use a little extra stretching and zen in their lives?!

Check out a few of my yoga poses (FYI – My form is definitely not perfect… I’m a yoga work in progress ;) ) from the challenge:

IMG_9296

You can find all of my poses on my Instagram account.

As a gift for participating in the challenge, prAna sent me a gorgeous new pair of their Ashley Capri Leggings in Azalea. What a gorgeous pink color, right?

IMG_9829

These leggings are part of their new spring line (I want everyyyyything!) and I couldn’t love them more! I was a bit hesitant to try out a pair of solid colored leggings that were not my typical black. Sometimes the material is NOT flattering and I was worried these leggings would look awful once I put them on. I’m thankful that was not the case – The material hides all of my bumps and lumps – LOL – and the pants look great on. Plus, I mean, they’re pink… That’s never a bad thing ;)

Now that I wear active wear to work day in and day out, I’m always looking for new pieces to incorporate into my wardrobe. These pants are great for yoga (obviously!) but also great for classes I teach like HIIT, BODYPUMP, and Spinning. They don’t move or twist or change position which I definitely appreciate when I’m teaching in front of 30 people! The Ashley Capri Leggings are also great to wear for errand day (they look awesome with a chambray button up shirt) or a day of lounging around the house.

A few other pieces I love from prAna’s new spring line include the Roxanne Capri (super fun designs), the Emma Knicker (perfect for the beach), and the Sutra Shirt (hello casual Saturday).

Another thing I especially love about prAna is their focus on sustainability. Before this challenge, I had no familiarity with bluesign or that prAna was committed to environmentally-friendly apparel production. What is bluesign, you ask?

Per the bluesign website:

The bluesign® system is the solution for a sustainable textile production. It eliminates harmful substances right from the beginning of the manufacturing process and sets and controls standards for an environmentally friendly and safe production. This not only ensures that the final textile product meets very stringent consumer safety requirements worldwide but also provides confidence to the consumer  to acquire a sustainable product.

Pretty interesting, right? I’m all about protecting our planet for future generations and am happy to support the process with my clothing purchases.

Thanks for making great clothing AND for supporting sustainability, prAna!

Now, what y’all have been waiting for… A discount code! You can save 15% off of prAna’s new spring line (and any of their gear) by using the code: PSSS16ONW

Let me know what you’re going to purchase!

Have you ever participated in a yoga challenge? Do you focus on sustainable practices when making purchases? What is your favorite item from prAna’s spring line?

Title Nine Review & Giveaway

Disclaimer: I was sent one sports bra in exchange for a review and giveaway. All opinions (and sweaty running selfies, LOL) are my own :)

Well hey there! I’m super excited today because I have a fun review and giveaway for y’all!

I’ve been lusting after sports bras on the Title Nine website for the past 6 months or so – ever since I first heard of the store, so when they reached out to see if I’d be interested in reviewing one of their bras, I jumped at the chance.

Title Nine

At first, I was bummed to realize that there are no Title Nine stores in SW Florida, but after perusing their site, testing out the Bra Genie, and speaking to one of their bravangelists on the phone, not having a store nearby was definitely not a problem. In fact, it may have actually actually made things easier for me… No hauling Dean to the fitting room so mama could try on multiple sports bras ;) LOL!

But let’s start at the beginning…

Find Your Perfect Bra >

To get an idea of what type of sports bra I needed for the activities I participate in frequently (running, SPINNING, BODYPUMP), I decided to test out their online Bra Genie. The online genie asks you multiple questions before making a recommendation including the areas of: needed support, regular bra size, support preference, sweat level, wire likes/dislikes, and modesty level.

My responses went something like this… LOTSA support for high impact activities, lock ’em down (hehe!), super sweat machine, no wires please, and cover ’em up! I knew what I wanted in a sports bra, I just didn’t know how to narrow down their huge selection – Thank goodness the Bra Genie came to my rescue. After the 30 second questionnaire, the genie gave me a few recommendations including the 7 Wonders Bra, the Booby Trap, and the Tech Athena Bra.

After looking at my bra options online, I spoke with Title Nine Bravangelist (<– can I get this job title on my resume, please?), Marsha, on the phone. Marsha was SO incredibly helpful and informative in the world of sports bras, something that I know almost nothing about. She recommended a few great options  – one for breastfeeding (the 7 Wonders bra actually unhooks in the front so you can make the straps tighter, but it also makes it easy to feed your kiddo too!) and one for the type of style that I like (I prefer a criss-cross back to a 2-strap back) and then told me I should size up for the bra that I decided to try out.

IMG_4752

My first sweaty, Florida run with my Title Nine 7 Wonders Bra! I was super sweaty and there was no chafing nor bounce – woohoo!

If you are ordering a bra via the Title Nine website, I definitely suggest you make a call to a bravangelist! The call was super quick and Marsha gave me sizing/fit suggestions I wouldn’t have thought of if I had just ordered online. Plus, she was able to place the order for me over the phone, provide me with a shipping estimate, and send an email confirmation. She gets 2 thumbs up from me for making the fit and ordering process comfortable and easy!

IMG_4819

It fits perfectly under my favorite tanks – No random straps sticking out!

After speaking with Marsha, I decided to go with the 7 Wonders Bra in black (I laughed as I told her on the phone that I like “boring” bra colors, haha!). I sized up to a 36DD per her recommendation and knowing that the cups can easily be resized by just adjusting the straps – Cool, right?

A few days after my phone order, my new sports bra arrived in my mail box. SWEET! I was so excited to try it out that I went on a run that evening ;) And, OH MY GOODNESS, I was sold after 2 minutes of running. BEST. Sports bra. EVER.

IMG_4747

Passed my “stretch test” – No sliding around when I stretched my body!

No shaking. No bouncing. No movement, at all! I have obviously been running in the wrong sports bras my entire life. Plus it delivered on everything that was promised – High support and modesty levels, sweat wicking, and true to its sizing.

The 7 Wonders Bra could not have arrived at a better time either as I was “training” for my first post-baby 5k. While some may disagree, I personally believe – that in addition to lotsa hard work, your fitness gear plays a HUGE role in your performance. Bad shoes, chafing clothes, and an lackluster sports bra would only distract you during a race… So while it wasn’t the Title Nine bra alone that helped me achieve my 5k PR, it definitely positively impacted my performance on race day.

IMG_5074

Keeps me covered even when Dean pulls down my tank ;) AND it’s also comfortable enough/wicks all of the sweat away to not have to change out of right after a race!

Quick moral to this post… Ya gotta get your next sports bra from Title Nine! Obviously the bras rock, but the service sets the Title Nine experience far above the rest.

IMG_5669

Post-run shots (I was sweaty and tired!) – Love the back, the coverage in the front and the adjustable straps <– you can kind of see one sticking out as I was playing around with it right before I took the photos.

Throughout this experience (my first real sports bra “fitting” – only took me 30 years!) I learned quite a few things about sports bras from the Title Nine experts. Did you know…

  • Just like running shoes, your bras should be replaced when they begin to wear out. After a year, the elastic and fabrics of your bra just aren’t what they used to be. It’s time to get a new one. No bra should celebrate a birthday.
  • Larger-breasted women, CAN wear just one sports bra. No doubling up necessary.
  • If chafing is a problem with your sports bra, you may need to go down a band size and up a cup size.
  • Many women quit exercising after having a baby because they can’t find the right bras/exercise clothes. <– WHATTTT! I never knew this little tidbit! Don’t let this deter you, there is a size and fit for everyone!

And you wanna know the best part? One of YOU is going to receive one for FREE (via a gift card to Title Nine)!!

Here’s how to enter:

  • Mandatory: Try the Bra Genie and leave a comment below on which bra you would choose, based on the genie’s results.

All others are optional, just leave an additional comment for each entry for extra chances to win!

I will randomly select a winner on Wednesday, September 30th!

Living in fit gear

If you know me, you know that I love to live my day-to-day life in fitness gear. Nothing is more comfortable and quick to put on in the mornings than my stretchy tops and shorts.

However, I’m starting to think that everyone may believe I own nothing BUT fit gear, LOL. While that’s not a huge issue – I mean who doesn’t like to live in their fitness apparel, I do like to look nice and put together on occasion. Don’t be too shocked now ;)

Thankfully, with the help of prAna, I can have the best of both worlds. Comfortable fitness apparel that is fashionable enough for a fun day out with friends!

As part of the #7daystretch campaign, I was sent four pieces from prAna. I’m pumped to share them with y’all today!

First off, let’s chat the Meme Pants. Before trying these on I was skeptical. I have always wanted to pull of the army green, cargo pant look but wasn’t sure my muscular legs would look good in these slim fittin’ pants. I was more than pleasantly surprised when I tried them on – Cute, right?! I LOVE that I can pair them with a casual black tank and flip flops for a relaxed look or with wedges and a fun top for a casual girls night out. In addition to being super cute, they are soft and comfortable as well. Love ’em!

IMG_4855

Next up, is the Sabin T-Back Top. I wore this tank to teach BODYPUMP over the weekend – it didn’t budge an inch and wicked my sweat away like no other (TMI? Sorry – I sweat a lot so I like to know when tanks help in that area, haha!) This piece is going to be a staple in my workout gear rotation and I know that it would be cute over jeans or regular shorts as well. Yup, a winner in my book!

IMG_4814

Now, onto the Ergo Leggings. You guyssss… These leggings feel like your most comfortable pair of sweat pants but in a lightweight, legging form. TOTAL winning. The pattern of the pants is super flattering as well and they make your booty look ah-maz-ing! ;) I have been living in these the past few days and while I don’t think I could dress them up with stilettos, I think they’re perfect for a cafe date or a run to Target.

IMG_4672

Finally, I am excited to share the Holly Dress! Living in a warm climate, I love pieces that are quick and easy to throw on after a day at the beach or a workout and the Holly Dress is exactly that piece! The built-in bra is supportive enough that you don’t need to wear an additional one underneath and the fabric is lightweight and cool – perfect for a post-workout brunch or errands. I kind of wish I would have ordered the Solid Black fabric because I think it could easily pair with a jean jacket and a few of my fun wedges but the pattern of the dress I received is fun as well.

Daily Rambles #1

I have a lot of thoughts. Don’t we all? I read somewhere (probably on Google…) that we have almost 100,000 thoughts passing through out brains per day. Wowzers.

As much as I love staying home with Dean and Mitchell, their strengths don’t lie in conversation. That leads me to holding a lot of internal rambles inside my head. Or talking out loud to two creatures that have no clue what I’m saying.

Great. Now I sound like a crazy person.

Regardless, I’m going to start a short daily post called – you guessed it, Daily Rambles. The goal is to get a quick blip of one of the many thoughts that went through my head that day.

Some days might be serious. Some days might be funny. Some days might be downright delirious. You never know what you’ll get ;)

So… Day 1!

Let’s chat Comcast. Y’all know how I feel about our beloved internet and cable provider.

Less than ideal, yes?

Well, I’m happy to say that I had my FIRST positive experience with Comcast this afternoon and yes, I’m just as shocked as y’all right now.

Close your jaws. I’m not lying to ya ;)

We’ve been having issues with our internet connection for almost 6 weeks now. As someone who works from home, this was more than infuriating most days. There is nothing like trying to get something done on your tiny iPhone 6 screen. Maybe I should have gotten the 6 Plus after all…

Anyways, the tech arrived, checked outside, and then FULLY ADMITTED (without any threats on my part, I’d like to add) that our issue lies with Comcast.

NO S$I! KIDDING. (I have been telling them this from Day 1…)

Anyways, as you can imagine since I was able to get this post published, that they sent the new parts out ASAP and we now have fully functional internet!!

… At least for the moment.

I’m not holding my breath. It IS Comcast we are talking about.

But all is good for now and for that I am grateful.

Comcast and persistence save the day!
