Monday Favorites

I tend to post my favorites of the week on Friday’s, but why not on a Monday?

Okay, you got me… I didn’t have a chance to post this past Friday so I’m posting a few days late ;) BUT, favorites are favorites so let’s kick off MonYAY on a happy note!

1. Date night on Saturday night! Kyle and I grabbed drinks at M Waterfront, dinner at Yabba Grill, and then dessert (AKA lotsa ice cream!) at Kilwin’s. It was a great way to spend date night!

IMG_3918

Saturday morning was fun too with a rainy trip to the farmer’s market :)

IMG_3892

2. The Olympics – While I’m not glued to the TV, it’s fun to watch updates and catch the competitions when I can.

3. Blue Raspberry Spark!!!!! (!!!!!!!!!! <– Because I didn’t have enough explanation points to begin with, LOL.) This is another limited time flavor and I’m super pumped for it! TBD on when it will be available for purchase – sometime this week – but if you want it, you gotta get it STAT. It’ll sell out quickly just like the other limited flavor – Pineapple Coconut – did earlier this summer.

IMG_3927

4. The Fit Squad Virtual 5k – My fitness group came together on Saturday to run a 5k together! I was bummed I had to run mine inside on a DREADmill (boo to storms in Naples), but I loved seeing everyone’s photos and excitement for doing something fun and healthy together.

IMG_3904

5. Burn Bootcamp! I plan on doing a full review once I’ve completed my first month, but so far so good. As in it hurts so good, LOL. The workouts are INTENSE and I’m actually somewhat concerned for the new-to-fitness women trying out Burn, but that story is for another day. I’m thankful that I have fitness knowledge and know when I should/shouldn’t do something to avoid injury… But for now, I’m loving it! If you have one in your area (and are currently in decent fitness shape), I recommend trying out their Groupon. $35 for a month which is much better than their normal $150/month!

6. Spark Variety Packs! I only have TWO left so let me know if you would like to claim one of ’em for yourself.

IMG_3748

7. The new Snapchat-ish style of Instagram – At first I hated it (I’m not super into Snapchat…) but now I like it. I probably won’t use it a ton but it’s nice to share little blips into my days without creating a full post. I do wish they had cool Snapchat filters though ;)

Friday Favs

Happy Friday, party people!! Can you tell party people is my new greeting thang? It’s Friday, we can be party animals today ;)

IMG_1296

Last night was actually my FriYAY since I took today off of work to celebrate my girlfriend, Tarin! It’s her bridal shower and bachelorette party weekend – woohooo!! I’ll be heading to The Keys later today for the evening and then coming back to Naples tomorrow afternoon to celebrate our 6th (!!!) wedding anniversary with Kyle on Saturday night. It’s bound to be a fun (and exhausting, LOL) weekend.

Thankfully my Spark order arrived yesterday so I have enough energy to push my 31-year-old body through the next 48 hours. I’m also thankful that I am used to no sleep (although Dean gave me a SEVEN hour stretch last night!) so I should be able to keep up with the gals ;)

Anyways, let’s chat this week’s favorites!

1. I am FINALLY feeling better. About dang time! While I never want to take Augmentin again, the shiz works. Two long weeks of an upper respiratory infection is finally coming to an end. WOOHOO.

2. Good neighbors – We had a case of a missing Amazon package earlier this week. It was only Cheddar Bunnies for Dean’s party and a new blender bottle for me (#priorities #momlife LOL) BUT I hateeeee when packages go missing. Our USPS leaves a lot to be desired here in Naples so I was fairly certain they delivered the package to the wrong house… AGAIN. Last night a friend in my neighborhood (whose house isn’t even on the same street as ours…) texted me to let me know she accidentally opened our package. SERIOUSLY USPS. But yay for bunnies and a new Spark bottle this morning!

3. Chipotle. Need I say more? Love. Of. My. Life. Next to Kyle, of course! I ordered to eat my salad in the restaurant and LOL’d (literally, out loud) when the cashier handed me a to-go bag “just in case”… I wanted to tell him that you have no clue how much Chipotle I can put down! Hits the spot. Every time.

IMG_1288 (1)

4. My new, white manicure!! I was nervous after a few of your comments when I mentioned getting white nails but I really like it. I don’t think it’s a color I will frequently get but it’s fun and fresh every once in a while. Although it kind of reminds me of painting my nails with White-Out in 7th grade…

IMG_1255

IMG_1260

5. Dill pickle cashews. GENIUS. I’m totally making these from scratch for our next par-tay. Cashews + a little big of olive oil + dill + a little bit o’ pickle juice. Easy peasy and healthy and delicious!

IMG_1248

And with that, I’m off!! Make sure y’all follow me on Instagram to stay current on my weekend shenanigans. Can’t wait!

Linking up with Katie and Heather for Friday Favorites.

Whatcha up to this weekend? Any favorites from the past week?

If we were having coffee…

It’s 6:30pm. Dean is asleep. Kyle is out for happy hour with friends. I have some goodies baking in the oven.

I’m stumped – WHAT DO I DO WITH MYSELF??

It is the perfect time to chat with y’all, yes? I don’t think I’ve ever done a “coffee” post but there is no time like the present to hop on an (old) trend ;) Since I rarely drink coffee these days, I’ll mix up a Spark and you can do the same or pour yourself a cup o’ joe.

I’m linking up with Lynda, Deborah, and Coco for the ultimate coffee date!

If we were having coffee…

… I’d tell you that I have yet to learn my tracks for BODYPUMP 97 that we are launching on Saturday. Whoops! Thankfully I have the core track and the cooldown track. Easy peasy ;)

… As I sip on my limeade Spark, I’d tell you that it is my new FAVORITE flavor. I don’t think anything will ever surpass my beloved fruit punch but this comes reallyyyyyyy close. Yummo!

img_0378

… I’d mention that we received Dean’s 1st birthday invitations in the mail on Monday and they turned out great! We are having his party on his birthday (May 14th) since it falls on a Saturday this year. I can’t wait to put everything together – Kyle’s in charge of food (with my approval, haha) and I am in charge of the cake and the decor.

… I’d sleepily let you know that Dean has been going to bed like a champ the past week or so but is loving the 5:30am wake up time. We need to nip this one quickly with a later bedtime I believe… Per the “wonder weeks” app, he is in a leap so once that passes I’m hoping we are back to our 7am alarm clock.

img_0615-1

… I would tell you how excited I am for my April “Booty Bootcamp” coming up in a few days! I have a fun group joining this month and we are going to get some stronggggg badonkadonks, hehe…

… I’d say that I could really go for a glass of wine right about now. Yes, I know it is 7am… #its5oclocksomewhere I’ve been cutting back on my vino consumption during the week because it is healthier for me but, yeah, I could really go for a glass of wine. Please and thank you ;)

img_0532

… I’d be really annoyed with Instagram! Per the gossip train, I heard they were changing the order of the posts but I haven’t noticed it on my feed yet. Anyone else? I’d be quite sad if the rumor is true – Instagram is my favorite social media outlet and I don’t want it to change!

… I’d check my watch (okay my phone, I don’t wear a watch!) and tell you I have to run – I’m still teaching a lot of classes (and lovin’ it!) but it means I have to know the time of day all day errr day.

Have a wonderful Thursday, friends!

What is one thing you’d tell me if we were having coffee?

Weekending – Cyclones, limeade, and sangria!

This weekend flew by! We had almost no plans going into the weekend so it was nice to relax and catch up over the past few days.

A few things from the weekend…

Chipotle – It will always and forever have my heart.

A new ‘do. The same but shorter. I’m so boring in the hair department ;)

Cheering on the Cyclones! Sweet 16!

New kicks from Target.

The Easter bunny made me buy them ;)

The BEST Spark flavor EVER. I hope Advo makes limeade permanent because I love it more than fruit punch… and that’s sayin’ a lot!  Kyle and I opened a bottle of rose on Friday and didn’t care for it too much. You know what happens to “bad” wine? It turns into sangria! Yum, yum, yum!

Sunday lunch.

Finally put together Dean’s water table his Aunt Laura gifted him for Christmas.

Checking out the Naples Art Festival on 5th Avenue.

I found Dean’s Easter outfit.

Andddd the Easter basket is done and done… Mostly by the grandma’s ;) I – I mean the Easter bunny – contributed the pacis and snacks.

How was your weekend? What are your plans for Easter?

Friday Favorites

Hey there – Happy FriYAY!

How was your St. Patrick’s Day? There was a lot of green here in Naples. It’s spring break so all of the kiddos in the school program as well as Deany’s daycare had a little parade through the gym. It was ADORABLE.

But, it is Friday, right? Let’s talk some favorites from the week!

Dean’s first “art” project. How cute is this?! I’m most definitely partial since he is my child but I love that they do these projects in daycare. I’m sure the babies hated doing footprints but the outcome is worth it, haha ;)

Since Dean is officially 10 months old, I’ve started his first birthday party planning! We have a theme and I’ve found invitations, decorations, a few outfits, and I plan on making his cake/cupcakes. I just need to work on the guest list and the menu!

Cyclone basketball! Iowa State played in the tournament yesterday and while I can’t say I watched the game super closely, it was fun to cheer for my team.

New Spark! I ordered this flavor as soon as it was released on Wednesday and cannot wait to try it. I love all things lime so limeade better live up to my expectations, LOL. #nopressure

I finally checked out the new grocery store in Naples, Lucky’s Market. It is a long drive from where we live and it is basically a mini Whole Foods. They have an awesome selection and prices are fairly reasonable. They also have $2 draft beer/$3 wine you can purchase and enjoy while shopping… Not that that sways my opinion of the store at all ;)

I picked up a new snack favorite for Dean there too… Cheddar Bunnies! He loves ‘em.

I’m looking forward to another chill weekend in Naples. I’m getting my hair did this afternoon (it’s been FOREVER…) and I would love to fit in a run, a family bike ride, and some relaxing.

Whatcha up to this weekend?

Linking up with Katie and Heather this lovely Friday!

#100 Treat Yourself Tuesday

#100?! Wowzers! I feel like I should have some big time treats to share with y’all today.

For #104 (TWO years!!) I think I’m going to host a little TYT bonanza party – a giveaway, lotsa fun – you know, a party of the online variety :)

Treat Yourself Tuesday Badge

First things first, this guy slept for NINE hours straight last night. I didn’t, of course, because I was up checking on him to make sure he was okay… but Kyle laid him down at 9pm and he didn’t eat again until 6:15am. I’m sure it was just a fluke but if it happens again tonight, I won’t complain ;)

IMG_4082

And it’s even better that’s he is a super happy baby this morning. He’s almost always a happy baby but this morning especially. He’s chattering and smiling to himself. Super cute.

This past weekend. Ignoring the epic travel fail on my way home, the weekend was INCREDIBLE. I love all of my Sparkheads and being able to spend a few days with them was amazing. I can’t wait to see them again when I’m in Chicago in a few weeks! Plus, how cool are these mega Spark boxes? I want this in my office, LOL.

IMG_3993

Setting some new goals. My girl Lauren gave me this bracelet and it is serving as a good daily reminder to keep my goals in my line of vision at all times.

IMG_4031

Good eats! While I may have had a slight slip up on the way home from Dallas (airport food is NOT challenge friendly…), my meals have been 97% healthy. I’m good with that. The challenge is more about creating a healthy lifestyle and it’s not a diet so a few blips here and there aren’t a big deal. Anyways, Kyle and I have been meal planning again and it is amazing. We have ventured out from the foods we have been eating every. single. week. since Dean was born and it’s nice to have some new foods in our life again. Variety is the spice of life!

IMG_4067

Magazine subscriptions! I had some Zulily credits and decided to put them toward a few magazines. I am not sure when I’ll have the time to read them, but you know, it’s all about the effort, right? LOL.

IMG_4027

Chipotle. ’nuff said.

IMG_3893

Oh! And this is pretty exciting news… I WORE MY SKINNY JEANS ON FRIDAY NIGHT. Did ya hear that?! No pictures unfortunately, but all the ladies who were with me can attest to the fact that I was indeed wearing my old jeans (that I haven’t worn since Chicago) and that they didn’t look awful AND that they zipped. Haha. It’s the small things in life. Yay for my pants fitting again – Total treatola right there.

 Loading InLinkz ...

How did you treat yourself over the the past week? Chipotle or Cafe Rio? Mega Spark – yay or nay? Favorite magazine?

Can I have both? Heck to the yes. I love all recipe magazines and fitness magazines even though they’re junk and have no good advice, LOL.

Friday Favs!

Oh hey there! Happy Friday!

I don’t know about you, but I was a day ahead of myself alllll week long. That means I thought yesterday was Friday. Cruel joke, right?

The good news is that TODAY is actually Friday and I’m here to share some of my favs from the week with y’all.

Thanks to Katie, Heather, and Clare for the Friday link-up fun!

1. Dean’s first Trader Joe’s haul! We hit up one of our favorite food stores yesterday and picked up some essentials – Chocolate + Wine ;) Oh, and some healthy stuff to round out the trip because apparently one cannot subsist on dark chocolate alone… although I’d like to prove them wrong.

IMG_2883

2. Visitors! Kyle’s parents are in town this weekend to meet Dean and to spend time with us. But really, they are here to see the baby, let’s be real – haha! And then my dad is coming next weekend to spend the 4th with us (and again, by us, I mean Dean) – Lots of grandparent time for the little dude and I’m sure he will love it!

3. Sriracha!! I seriously cannot get enough of this Sriracha Deviled Egg recipe. I’ve already made 2 batches and I may need to run out for some more Sriracha to make a third…

IMG_2769

4. My new shorts! I mentioned them on Tuesday, and am happy to report that a medium fits perfectly (similar to a size 4/6 at Lulu if anyone is thinking of purchasing this brand) – How fun are they going to be for the 4th?!

IMG_2893

5. I was cleared for ALL activities – that means YOU running! – at my 6-week postpartum appointment yesterday. Wahoo! I have yet to go on a run (maybe I fit one in earlier this morning since I am typing this Thursday evening) but once I find the time, you better bet I’m going to get out there and have my boot-ay handed to me ;) My last run was on Christmas Day, and I know that my first run back is going to be ugly. As long as I don’t have a heart attack, pee myself, or puke, I’ll call it a success. Setting my standards high, LOL.

6. Last, but DEFINITELY not least, I’m lovin’ the new Spark canisters and packets. Smaller canisters. Easier-to-pour packets (no more spilling precious Spark when mixing it up in a water bottle!). Only 4 tast-a-licious carbs. I was on fumes (a dusting? haha) of my final Spark canister yesterday morning so thank goodness my shipment arrived in the afternoon. A mom without Spark would be disastrous.

IMG_2878

And that’s all she wrote, folks. Have a fab final weekend of June 2015 <– What the whaaa?!

What is your favorite from the week? …Food? …Purchase? …Drink? …Event?

Friday Favs

Heyyyy! It’s been a hot minute since I participated in Friday Favs and I have a lot of favorites this week so let’s get to it!

1. This isn’t really a favorite, but Kyle went back to work yesterday after taking 2 weeks off. Boooooo. The good news is that Dean and I both survived! We managed to eat, nap, take a few walks, do a few loads of laundry, and practice BODYPUMP. I call that a successful first solo-baby day :)

IMG_2260

2. My “Scenes from the day” posts on Instagram. I am trying to stay off of my phone more often than not these days but I still take a lot of photos that I want to share! Plus, a few of my fellow mamas mentioned that I’m going to love looking back at the moments from each of the first few weeks with Dean.

IMG_2272

IMG_2249

3. Mommy juice… aka – Spark. Oh my goshhhhhh. It has never tasted so good in my life, haha! I have it in the morning before breakfast and then again an hour or two before Kyle gets home from work. It saves my life, I tell ya.

4. My mom and sister are visiting next week! We haven’t had any visitors yet (minus a few friends/neighbors) so Kyle and I are excited to begin introducing Dean to our families :)

5. I WILL be going on a Starbs run today! I have been saying this ever since Tuesday but haven’t had the chance to get there yet. Going out solo with the babe will be an adventure but an iced coffee and a few seconds of adult interaction (<– the more important part, haha) will be worth it.

I’m linking up with Katie, Heather, and Clare today to share some of my favorites from the week.

What’s your favorite… workout, meal, drink, purchase… from the week? What are you up to this weekend?

#80 Treat Yourself Tuesday

Thanks to everyone that linked up again last week for TYT! I moderated all links so if yours didn’t appear, it didn’t follow the TYT guidelines – You can find those here :)

Treat Yourself Tuesday Badge

I’m off to teach my Tuesday morning BODYPUMP class in a few, so let’s get right to it!

My first treat was passing my NASM CPT exam – wahoo!! It feels so good to have that pass and to tell y’all about it.

photo 1

An upcoming treat will be closing on our house THIS THURSDAY! Apparently all parties involved missed one of the applications we needed to submit for our HOA approval, so fingers crossed (please and thank you!!) that we can still close this week. There isn’t any use in pointing fingers at this stage in the game – mistakes happen and I think it’s important to be a problem-solver and not a finger pointer in life! – but we need to get crackin’ on our remodels so hopefully timing will still go as planned.

photo 1 (20)

Cadbury Mini Eggs – ’nuff said ;)

photo 2 (19)

prAna treated me to a lovely surprise package!! Not only did it remind me that I still need to do a few more posts to get those 30 days up here on the blog, but it was FULL of awesome goodies – a new yoga mat, clothes, and fun yoga accessories. It definitely made my day last Thursday.

photo 2 (20)

So, I didn’t technically treat myself to these yet, but I found the nightstands that I’ll be getting for our master bedroom once we move! I love the mirrored look and it will look great with our dark wood floors and off-white bedding and plush headboard.

photo 3 (12)

Sunsets on the beach are definitely a treat.

photo 1 (19)

Finally, I treated myself to lotsa Spark over the week. Seriously, this wonderful liquid has so many nicknames… Mommy juice, Sparkola, Sparkity Spark, Juice from the Gods… But I like to call it my happy juice :) One sip can turn a crappy day into a happy one and that, I am thankful for!

photo 4 (11)

How did you treat yourself over the week? Any big treats coming up this week?

Advo Hacks #1

It’s no secret that I love my AdvoCare.

Spark and O2Gold this… Muscle Gain and Rehydrate that… I’m sure you’ve seen it all here on ONW as well as on my social media sites!

Thankfully, I’m not alone in my love for the good stuff. I’m happy that SO many of y’all share my borderline-obsessive love for all things AdvoCare. Not all obsessions are bad ;)

Because of this, I have decided to start a new series – Advo Hacks. It isn’t going to be weekly, they will just pop up when I discover a new and awesome way to gain benefits from our favorite Advo products.

Sound fun? Mmmkay, let’s get onto my #1 Advo Hack!

HydraSpark Slushie

photo (7)

You know those ultra-sugary yet oh so tasty gas station fruity slushies? The ones that come in machines that have probably never been cleaned?

Yeah. I’ve come up with a healthy version that is going to rock your socks. Plus, it’s sugar-free, full of good-for-you vitamins, AND you can serve it in a clean cup… sounds much more appetizing than the convenience store version already, right?

It’s super simple too… Place into a blender and pulse until it reaches a slushy consistency (<– super scientific):

Voila! A delicious, healthy, summery treat that isn’t going to send your blood sugar through the roof. And it tastes just as good as it sounds.

Three cheers for HydraSpark!
